Urban Heat in India: Economic & Public Health Impacts
February 16 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Addressing at the high-level roundtable on “Urban Heat in India: Economic & Public Health Impacts” organised by Climate Trends at World Trade Centre Mumbai on 16 February 2026.
Urban heat stress is no longer just an environmental issue — it is an economic risk multiplier, especially for the MSME sector. I highlighted how extreme heat is reducing labour productivity, increasing energy costs, disrupting supply chains, and creating occupational health risks for small enterprises.
Suggested focused policy reforms including climate-resilient MSME clusters, green cooling incentives, and heat-risk integration in industrial planning.
Important, timely, and action-oriented discussion.
